How We’d Design Your Luxury Wedding at Philbrook

Our take on creating a wedding at one of Tulsa’s most iconic venues that feels elevated, intentional, and completely yours.

There are wedding venues that give you a blank canvas, and then there’s Philbrook.

Between the Italian-inspired architecture, manicured gardens, historic interiors, and some of the prettiest views in Tulsa, Philbrook already brings so much to the table. And if you’re dreaming of getting married here, we don’t think your wedding design should compete with any of it.

It should feel like it belongs there.

So, if you handed us the reins and told us to design your luxury wedding at Philbrook, here’s where we’d start.

Let the Venue Lead the Design

When your venue looks like Philbrook, you don’t need to transform it into something it isn’t.

We’d start by looking at the spaces you’re using throughout your wedding day and designing around what’s already there. The architecture, gardens, stonework, fountains, and surrounding landscape can become part of your design rather than simply the backdrop for it.

Instead of filling every corner just because we can, we’d be intentional about where we make an impact.

Your ceremony might need very little beyond gorgeous florals framing the space. Your cocktail hour could lean into the gardens and architecture around it. Then, when guests move into your reception, we can introduce another layer of the design while still making the entire day feel connected.

Luxury doesn’t always mean adding more. Sometimes it means knowing exactly where to stop.

Make It Feel Collected, Not Themed

We never want your wedding to look like we chose a theme and then tried to make every single detail match it.

Instead, we’d build your design in layers.

Your linens might introduce a subtle pattern or texture. Florals could bring in unexpected shapes and movement. Your stationery, rentals, candles, tabletop pieces, signage, and smaller details would all work together without feeling like they came from the exact same collection.

The goal is for everything to feel like it was chosen specifically for your wedding.

Not “Italian wedding.” Not “garden wedding.” Not “old money wedding.”

Your wedding at Philbrook.

Don't Be Afraid of Color

Philbrook can absolutely handle color.

While a neutral palette would be beautiful here, we wouldn’t automatically default to white and green just because you’re planning a luxury wedding.

Depending on your style, we could bring in soft blues, buttery yellows, blushes, deeper greens, unexpected reds, or even a mix of colors and patterns that makes the entire design feel more collected and personal.

The key is using color intentionally.

We’d pull from the venue itself, the season, your personal style, and the atmosphere you want your guests to experience. Then we’d carry those tones through the day in ways that feel thoughtful rather than overly coordinated.

Your wedding can be elegant and still have personality.

Actually, we think it should.

Create Moments, Not Just Pretty Tables

Of course we’re going to care about your tables.

But we’re also thinking about everything your guests experience before they ever sit down for dinner.

What do they see when they arrive? Where do they go after your ceremony? What does cocktail hour feel like? Is there a moment that immediately makes them want to pull out their phone? What happens when they enter the reception?

That could mean a statement escort display, an incredible bar moment, custom signage, a champagne installation, an unexpected lounge, a floral moment tucked into the architecture, or something completely different that feels like you.

Those are the details that turn a beautiful wedding into an experience.

We want your guests to keep discovering things throughout the night.

The Pretty Is Only Half of It

This is the part of luxury wedding planning that doesn’t always make it onto Pinterest.

Your wedding can have incredible florals, beautiful linens, custom stationery, and the prettiest tablescape we’ve ever designed, but if your guests are standing in a bar line for twenty minutes or your mom misses your cake cutting, it doesn’t feel luxurious.

That’s why we’re thinking about the logistics at the exact same time we’re thinking about the design.

Your guest count. Your floor plan. Bar placement and staffing. Catering service. Vendor arrivals. Rental deliveries. Ceremony timing. Cocktail hour flow. Transportation. Photography. Lighting. Setup. Breakdown. And how hundreds of little moving pieces are going to come together without you ever having to think about them.

The goal isn’t just for your wedding to look effortless.

We want it to feel effortless, too.

Make It Feel Like You

This is where we’d spend the most time.

Because as beautiful as Philbrook is, we don’t want someone to walk away from your wedding saying, “That was such a pretty venue.”

We want them saying, “That was so them.”

Maybe that means pattern and color. Maybe it’s completely timeless and romantic. Maybe we incorporate details from your favorite places, your family, the way you entertain at home, or something nobody else would think to put at a wedding.

We’d take all of those little pieces of who you are and figure out how to translate them into a celebration that feels elevated enough for Philbrook without losing your personality along the way.

Because the most luxurious wedding we could design for you isn’t the one with the most flowers, the biggest budget, or the longest vendor list.

It’s the one that feels like it couldn’t possibly belong to anyone else.
