Moody Romance at Vinterra

Some weddings start with a very specific vision. Every color chosen, every detail saved, every Pinterest board perfected.
Tessa and Chris were a little different.
They knew they wanted a beautiful day, but more than anything, they were ready to be married and celebrate with the people they loved. They trusted us with so much of the creative direction, which meant we got to have a LOT of fun bringing this one to life.
Deep wine reds and purples, dusty blues, soft sage greens, tons of greenery, custom details, and layers of green chiffon completely transformed Vinterra into something moodier, softer, and incredibly romantic.
And somehow, the story behind this wedding was even sweeter than the design.
A Full-Circle Wedding for Malyn Made
This wasn't the first wedding we'd planned for Tessa's family.
Years earlier, Malyn planned a wedding for Tessa's mom, Carla. We've gotten to work with Carla quite a bit since then, so getting the call to now plan her daughter's wedding felt pretty special.
There is something really sweet about being invited back into a family's biggest moments.
This time, it was Tessa and Chris' turn.
A Love Story That Started Across India
And these two have a GOOD story.
Tessa and Chris met while they were both living in India, except they were living on completely opposite sides of the country.
A mutual friend decided they needed to meet and set them up. So Chris traveled all the way across India to meet Tessa.
Clearly, the friend knew what they were doing.
The rest is history.
We hear a lot of love stories in this job, but “he traveled across India to meet her” is pretty hard to top.
Taking Vinterra Somewhere Completely Different
Vinterra is naturally very bright, open, and white, which makes it an incredible blank canvas when a couple wants to take the design in a completely different direction.
For Tessa and Chris, we wanted softer. Moodier. More romantic.
One of the biggest transformations came from draping the space in green chiffon. It softened all of the white and immediately brought more depth and color into the room.
From there, we layered in rich wine reds and purples, greenery, sage tones, and little hints of dusty blue.
Nothing felt overly matched or too perfect. The colors worked together in a way that felt collected, romantic, and a little unexpected.
Exactly what we wanted.
When Your Couple Lets You Get Creative
One of the most fun parts of Full Service Planning is getting to know a couple well enough that they can hand us an idea and trust us to run with it.
Tessa and Chris gave us so much creative freedom with their wedding.
They cared about the details, but they weren't going to spend their engagement stressing over every tiny decision. They wanted to get married. They wanted their people there. They wanted everyone to have an amazing time.
And they trusted us to make the rest beautiful.
That trust gave us room to think beyond individual details and look at how the entire room would feel together.
A Dance Floor Made Just for Them
The dance floor became one of the statement pieces of the reception.
Komplete Event Rentals created a completely custom floor for the space, which was then wrapped by Visual FX.
We LOVE a detail that can completely change the look of a room while also serving an actual purpose, and a custom dance floor does exactly that.
It gave the reception another layer of personality and created a focal point right where everyone would eventually end up anyway.
Because yes, we want the room to look incredible.
But we also want you on the dance floor.
Tea With Their Moms
For all of the beautiful design moments throughout the day, one of our favorites was probably one of the simplest.
Instead of champagne at their cake table, Tessa and Chris had tea.
And they shared it with their moms.
It was quiet, sweet, personal, and completely them. The kind of detail you can't manufacture just because it looks good in a photo.
Those are always the moments we remember.
A Vendor Team We REALLY Loved
There are some wedding days where you look around at the vendor team and think, oh, this is going to be good.
This was one of them.
Just Catering by Orr handled the food, bar, and service and is forever one of our favorites to work with.
And a few of these vendors are extra special to us. Juliana Rose photographed Malyn’s own wedding, Crooked Roots created her florals, and Tyler Fisher Films filmed Addie’s wedding. So safe to say, these are people we trust with a wedding day.
Getting to work alongside vendors we already know and love made an already special day that much sweeter.
When you have a talented vendor team that knows how to work together, wedding days just feel different. Everyone knows their role, everyone communicates, and the couple gets to enjoy the result without ever needing to know what's happening behind the scenes.
The Best Kind of Wedding Day
There wasn't one giant over-the-top moment that made Tessa and Chris' wedding special.
It was the whole thing.
The colors. The draping. The custom dance floor. The vendors we adore. Their families. Tea with their moms. A love story that started thousands of miles away.
And most importantly, a couple who never lost sight of why everyone was there in the first place.
They just really wanted to be married.
Everything else was the very pretty cherry on top.
And That’s What Made It Perfect
Tessa and Chris' wedding is such a good example of why we love Full Service Planning.
You don't have to come to us knowing exactly what your wedding should look like.
That's kind of the point.
We'll get to know you, figure out what you love, curate the vendor team, build the design, manage the logistics, and take all of those little ideas and decisions and turn them into a wedding that feels completely like you.
You get to focus on the getting-married part.
We'll make it really freaking pretty.
